Each member of our staff strives to meet the top standard of care for every patient that enters our practice. Due to the large volume of phone calls and lab reports, we have set the following office policies in order to serve all of our patients in the best possible way:
Whenever leaving a message please provide the following: your name, your date of birth, and a brief description of why you are calling.
Please allow at least 24 hours for refills. The most efficient way in which to refill your medication is to have your pharmacy fax us their "Refill medication fax form." If it is neccessary to bypass this system we will need your name, the name and dosage of your medication, and your pharmacy number. But it is clearly more efficient to utilize your pharmacy medication fax refill system. Before calling the office again, please check with your pharmacy.
Please allow at least two weeks for the results. We have an automated system in which you can call and obtain your pap smear results, Instruction cards will be given to you at the time of your annual exam. However, If there is anything abnormal Dr. Villanueva will call you with your results himself.
All radiology facilities notify you of your results by mail. However; if there is an abnormal finding, Dr Villanueva will call you as soon as we receive the results.
For lab work during pregnancy, we will call you only with abnormal results; otherwise we will discuss the results with you at your next regularly scheduled visit.
For screening lab work (cholesterol, etc.) we will call only if results are abnormal.
We will call you with results within 10 days, unless we have the need to schedule your for a follow up appointment.
If your insurance requires a referral or preauthorization for any services requested by Dr. Villanueva; please contact our office at (210) 494-8100 and leave your name, the name of your insurance, the physician we have referred you to, and the reason. Please do not make the appointment that requires the referral until you have been contacted by our office. Allow at least three working days. In case of emergency, call back and ask to speak to one of our medical assistants.
